March’s pick for Chapter Chat is Holes by Louis Sachar!
Stanley Yelnats is cursed, and it began with his no-good grandfather. Now Stanley is accused of stealing a pair of shoes. He is sent to Camp Green Lake, a boys’ detention center, where they spend all day digging holes. It doesn’t take long for Stanley to realize that there is something else going on. The warden is looking for something.
In this creative and darkly funny story of crime, punishment, and redemption, Stanley seeks to uncover the truth.
Snacks and drinks will be provided along with a STEM activity where we will dig our own holes, just like Stanley and his friends at Camp Green Lake!
We will be meeting at the Aurora Public Library on March 15th at 4 pm and the Dillsboro Public Library on March 11th at 10:30 pm! You can check out your copy of Holes for Chapter Chat at either the Dillsboro or Aurora Public Libraries.
